40 Days for Life

40 Days for Life is an intensive effort designed to raise awareness, save lives, bring healing, and lead our nation to repentance for the sin of abortion through three components: Prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil, and community outreach. Hundreds of cities nationwide and internationally join in simultaneous prayer and vigils. It is based on the Scripture, 2 Chron.7:14: "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." In Syracuse, Christians unite in prayer each fall and spring and conduct a peaceful prayer vigil in front of Syracuse Planned Parenthood, from 7:00am-7:00pm, each day of the campaign. For more information, please call: Jeanie Owens (956-7772) or Shannon Guy (200-0255) or visit our website at The national website is National40daysforlife. All are welcome!

Catholic Priests for Life

Priests for Life has come to signify two distinct but related movements within the wider pro-life movement. On one level, as described below, Priests for Life refers to a very specific effort to galvanize the clergy to preach, teach, and mobilize their people more effectively in the effort to end abortion and euthanasia. On another level, Priests for Life represents a family of ministries that reach and enrich every aspect of the pro-life movement, for clergy and laity alike, in a wide variety of activities.

Anglican Priests for Life

Anglican Priests for Life is open for membership to all Priests of the Anglican tradition who support the cause of the sanctity of life through daily witness and prayer. It is asked that our members serve in the pro-life movement with diligence in prayer and witness. We are a movement of peace and request that you daily pray one of our prayers listed on our web page or one that is similar. Priests for Life make a commitment to always include at each Mass a prayer for the unborn. Our Priests preach at least twice a year on the cause, including on pro-life Sunday in January.

Respect Life Ministry

The Office of Respect Life Ministry for the Syracuse Roman Catholic Diocese seeks to educate, inform and resource the people of the Syracuse Diocese regarding the value and dignity of human life. We do this through offering talks on pro-life issues, sending action alerts and encouraging advocacy concerning pro- or anti-life legislation, responding through Project Rachel (a post-abortive healing ministry) and providing pro-life events and resources.

Syracuse Right to Life

We endeavor to educate and raise local awareness that human life is still being destroyed at the rate of about 24,000 each week in our United States of America via our New York State Fair booth, our local annual Life Chain, our local annual March for Life, our High School Student Oratorical Contest, and our annual Bus to Washington for the National March.

Transformation Syracuse/CNY

Transformation Syracuse/CNY is dedicated to fulfilling the mandate set forth in 2 Chronicles 7:14, in order to usher in revival and transformation to this area. This Scripture tells us that if God's people (every denomination that names the Name of Jesus), will come together in unity and humility to pray and repent of corporate sin (such as abortion) and seek His face, that God will hear our prayers and heal our land. This is accomplished through quarterly non-denominational prayer, praise and worship gatherings at various churches throughout the CNY area.

Annually, on the first Sunday in October, LIFE CHAIN invites the churches in each city and town across North America to stand on a designated local sidewalk and pray for 90 minutes while holding approved pro-life sign messages.

As an umbrella organization, Care Net seeks to promote, prepare, and plant pregnancy centers across North America.
